Few months back Motorola released DEXT(CLIQ in US), their first Android device with a special widgetised user interface called the MOTOBLUR. Today they have announced another phone, the Motorola Backflip with same MOTOBLUR technology included. MOTOBLUR is shaped over Android OS to enhance corresponding mobile devices, more friendly with social networking and internet access. The same widget system has been employed in the new Motorola Backflip . The Mortola Backflip users can access web updates easily from the phone home screen with help of widgets. Motorola Backflip was in the news for the last few months. The device was earlier called the Motorola Motus. As the name indicates, this device comes with a reverse flip slider for including full QWERTY keypad. Motorola Backflip price and plans for US will be available by the first quarter of 2010.

Motorola Backflip actually has an option to flip to the back side. The phone comes with Android OS 1.5 installed. There will be a 5MP camera with auto focus and LED flash. Motorola Backflip screen is 3.1 inch in size. This screen is capacitive touch with support for 256K colors at HVGA 320 x 480 pixels resolution. As you can see in the images, the phone home screen with MOTOBLUR displays the live statues updates from social networking sites, new email and SMS notifications etc. Backflip screen is equipped wish a accelerometer sensor for landscape view on rotation. Inside there is a 528 MHz CPU with dedicated 256MB RAM. Motorola Backflip includes a 2GB card which can be expanded to 32GB. Its perfect in the networking side also. There is quadband GSM support with GPRS, EDGE and tri-band 3G ( 7.2 mbps). Another surprising new feature in Motorola Backflip is the touch enabled backtrack behind the screen. This can be used to scroll web pages and easy navigation over options. Other features of Motorola Backflip includes Bluetooth with A2DP, GPS, WiFi, microUSB connectivity, 3.5mm audio jack, music player, web browser, Li-Ion 1400 mAh battery etc. Color option available is platinum silver. Overall its a nice package.

Motorola Backflip price in India and launch date:
Motorola has another Android device called Droid (Milestone) with 5MP camera and QWERY keypad. Milestone has a better processor and now it cost 630 USD unlocked. The launch of Nexus One would also affect future pricing of Android devices.Considering this, we expect the price of Motorola Backflip to be in the range 500-570USD. As per the press release, Motorola Backflip will be released in the Q1 of 2010 all over the world including India.
Update : Motorola backflip will be available from AT&T stores in US from March 7 of this year. The price backflip is 99.99$ after 100$ mail-in-rebate.
