Virgin mobile, the popular youth telecom brand of India has entered in GSM services. Virgin currently operates established CDMA network with its partners Tata Tele services. Virgin Mobile GSM network announced on January 22 is available across Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu telecom circles. Virgin mobile offers two prepaid tariff plans. The first one is a daily rental plan per minute plan and other is per second plan. Interested users in supported states can get a Virgin mobile prepaid SIM card with lifetime validity for 49 rupees. Its is requested to recharge SIM with minimum 10RS after activation.
After activation the default plan of all Virgin mobile GSM customers will be the per minute plan. In this plan you will need to pay Re 1.5 per day for 20p/min calls to all local and STD virgin prepaid mobile numbers. Local and STD calls to all other number will be charge 40p/m and 50p/m.

Virgin mobile per second plan needs the users to charge their phone with RS 12. This will activate 1p/s calls to all local and STD mobile/landline connections for a period of one year. This recharge also provides 10.88 RS free talk time.
SMS charges in both prepaid plans are 50p/1Re/5Re for local, national and international messages.
